Mt. Roland Summit Track:
A magnificent seven hour return walk on a well defined track. Has views to the coast, including the harbour at Devonport and inland to Cradle Mountain and the Walls of Jerusalem.
Alternate walks lead to Minnow Falls or across Mt Van Dyke and Mt Claude. (3 Min from Silver Ridge)
Devil's Gullet outlook: Short walk, spectacular scenery. (30 Min from Silver Ridge)
Kimberley's Lookout / Badger's Range Walk:
(approx. 90 min. return) Provides excellent views of Kentish, Mt Roland and beyond. (10 Min from Silver Ridge)
Lake Barrington Billet Creek Nature Walk: (approx. 1,5 to 2 hours return):
An interesting Rain Forest and Nature Walk in delightful bushland in the Lake Barrington recreation area (Rowing, Water-skiing Canoeing), Many endemic species are identified for information. (20 Min from Silver Ridge)
Stoodley Plantation Forest Walk: (approx. 30-40 min)
A feature of this walk is the variety of trees planted in the 1940s. (20 Min from Silver Ridge)
Alum Cliffs Gorge: 2km easy 1hr family walk.
Mole Creek Lookout:approx. 90 min return with good views.
Historic Walk of Latrobe & Dooley’s Hill Nature Walk (40 Min from Silver Ridge)
Narawntapu National Park:
An interesting Coastal Park with good walking tracks. Many native animals especially wombats & wallabies, particularly on the Point Vision walk in winter. A good place to go when the weather in the mountains is poor. (1 Hour from Silver Ridge)
Cradle Mountain & Walls Of Jerusalem National Parks:
Both these magnificent wilderness areas are readily accessible from Silver Ridge, each about 45 minutes drive. There are numerous walks in these areas, from a few hours to several days.
Dove Lake Walk: (approx. 2 hours). (45 Min from Silver Ridge)
Marion's Lookout (3 hrs return) 45 mins from Silver Ridge.
Tasmanian Arboretum: (10km south west of Devonport) & Don River Railway.
Gnomon / River Leven - Mt. Dial: There are a number of pleasant walks in the Dial range
